2015 Hyundai Elantra: Comprehensive Review!

Even though consumers and experts agree the 2015 Elantra is an awesome vehicle, a lot of people still haven’t given this vehicle the respect that it deserves. If your one of these people hopefully I can convince you how great it really is!

The Elantra is available in several different models: the SE 4dr Sedan, the Sport 4 dr Sedan and the Limited 4dr Sedan. In regard to horsepower, the different models have various levels of power.

For example, the SE 4dr Sedan has a horsepower of 145 while the sport edition of this vehicle boasts a horsepower of 166 (very good fro a sedan). The Limited Elantra also has a horsepower of 145. The Elantra also has excellent fuel mileage.

The SE Sedan gets 28 miles per gallon in the city and over 38 miles per gallon driving on the highway. The sport edition gets around 24 miles per gallon city driving and over 35 miles per gallon driving on the highway. Lastly, the Limited 4dr Sedan gets 27 miles per gallon in the city and receives 37 miles per gallon on the highway. In regard to pricing, the Elantra is also very cost effective starting at $16,734 and going all the way up to $21,700.

2015 Hyundai Elantra Reviews

First, lets take a peak at what the experts like about this particular vehicle and what they don’t like about this vehicle. Some of the “pros” of owning this care are: the ride-ability and handling poise, the very good gas mileage does not come at the expense of drivability (still a very smooth ride), the cabin is very roomy and the entire vehicle has a very stylish design. Along with all these “pros” there are bound to be a few drawbacks (in the opinions of the “experts).

The 2015 Hyundai ElantraFor tall people, some have reported that the telescoping wheel does not extend far enough to accompany an overly tall driver. The driver side ‘A-pillar’ blocks the rearview mirror at some points and has the potential to limit visibility. Finally, some very critical experts have described the metal trim interior as “unconvincing.”

Despite some of these critical reviews, consumer feedback from the general public has been very positive. We have compiled survey results from eight ACTUAL owners of the 2015 Hyundai Elantra, they were asked to judge their vehicle on 7 different parameters: comfort, interior, value, performance, safety, reliability and technology.

  • Overall, comfort received a rating of 4.125 out of 5.
  • Interior scored a 4.625 out of 5 from the consumers.
  • Value for the money only received a 3.6 out of 5.
  • Performance received an overall rating of 3.75 out of 5.
  • Safety received a rating of 4.6 out of 5.
  • Reliability received a rating of 4.25 out of 5.
  • And finally, technology received a 4.2 out of 5.

Overall this vehicle received a rating of “4 out of 5”. As I was looking through the reviews compiling these results, I started to notice a common theme among the reviewers. Majority of them have owned an Elantra in the past. This means people are indeed satisfied with this year’s version of the Hyundai Elantra.

Safety Ratings for 2015 Elantra#1 Safety Ratings

Safety should be a main concern on your radar when looking to purchase a new vehicle. This specific vehicle received a rating of “5” stars, which is the highest rating any vehicle can receive from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). If your looking for a vehicle for a first time driver, or a vehicle to safely carry your family around, this vehicle is perfect!

For me, safety is the number one factor when purchasing a new vehicle, that’s why if I was in the market for a new vehicle right now, the 2015 Hyundai Elantra would be my number 1 choice.

How has the Elantra Evolved?

A lot has changed in this vehicle, even from just the 2014 model to the infamous, 2015 model. For example, Hyundai has made different package options available for the Sedan and they have decided to completely discontinue the “coupe” edition for 2015. The pricing has also changed a bit (not much). For example, the price of the basic SE and limited models has increased by $50. The pricing for the sport models has decreased by $100.

The Elantra has had three generations in total. The car has also been in production for quite some time starting back in 1990 and is still being produced to this day! This vehicle started off in its first generation as a clunky, bulky sedan that was very unsafe (and the gas mileage was not HALF as good as it is today). Now the vehicle has a beautiful sleek design and the gas mileage is one of the best on the Sedan market.

2015 Elantra Final Verdict

The 2015 Hyundai Elantra is by far the best vehicle in its class: the price is very reasonable, the miles per gallon is incredible, and the vehicle is very ascetically good looking. It not only received a perfect “5 out of 5” regarding safety but it is also beyond comfortable! What more could you ask for?
